When a fault in the system are unacceptable!

TETRA is the first open standard for professional digital radio (Professional Mobile Radio - PMR), which is supported by many established global manufacturers of infrastructure and subscriber equipment operating under this standard. The standard was created as a single pan-European digital standard for professional radio, so until April 1997 TETRA is the acronym meant "trans-European trunked radio" (Trans-European Trunked Radio). Due to the great interest shown in the TETRA in other regions of the world TETRA abbreviation begins to decipher as "Terrestrial trunked radio" (Terrestrial Trunked Radio).

In 2004 the specifications of the system interface between the ISI (Inter-System Interface) were approved. In 2005 is established the standard for high-speed data transmission known as TEDS (TETRA Enhanced Data Service), which provides data transmission in TETRA networks at speeds up to 115/230 kbps. Currently development of the standards is contineuing.

Motorola Solutions is one of the first participants in TETRA Consortium and participates actively in the development and improvement of the package TETRA standards. Motorola Solutions is one of the largest manufacturers of TETRA infrastructure and subscriber equipment.

MTS1 TETRA Base Station

The small, flexible and yet extremely powerful MTS1 offers network operators a comprehensive coverage solution that can be rapidly installed and commissioned.

The MTS1 small rugged form factor, IP66 weather resistant enclosure, and ergonomic offers a wide variety of implementation options. Be it for indoor or outdoor wide area coverage applications, the MTS1 provides complete flexibility, covering wall and pole mounted installations. The MTS1 also ensures complete end-to-end security with full support for static, dynamic and group based air interface encryption, authentication and end-to-end encryption. This level of security is maintained even when there is a site link failure causing the base station to operate in local site trunking mode.

Capacity: 1-2 base stations (4-8 time timeslots)

MTS4L TETRA/LTE Base Station

The MTS4L TETRA/LTE Base Station provides a flexible path for the addition of LTE to complement a TETRA system. By provisioning for the addition of an eNodeB into the TETRA Base Station cabinet, Motorola is offering a highly flexible migration solution for TETRA operators. The MTS4L can be installed as a TETRA only base station, but it can include the services for the eNodeB such as shared backhaul, and battery backup. These services can be installed at the start or they can be upgraded at a later time when needed by customers. Most importantly the MTS4L footprint is unchanged when the eNodeB is installed and so the upgrade is very simple and fast with minimal disturbance to TETRA service.
